The first of its kind in Canada, the $1.1 million Learning Centre for Academic Excellence will enable the members of the UBC Football Program to excel both in the classroom and on the field. The Learning Centre, adjacent to Thunderbird Stadium, will serve as academic headquarters for the Football Program, providing a space for all players to receive tutoring and academic advising. With over 1,800 square feet of multi-functional space, the Centre will be used for team meetings, game preparation, and academic supervision. The Learning Centre will help ensure the success of current players and serve as an essential tool in recruiting top student-athletes to the Point Grey campus.

Renovations of Thunderbird Stadium are currently underway with significant improvements being made to the entire facility. The players' locker room, physiotherapy room, whirlpool room, shower facilities, and coaches' offices are among the many parts of the stadium receiving significant and necessary upgrades. Additionally, the Bob Hindmarch Heritage Room is being transformed into a multi-purpose player meeting room and alumni centre, and the Concourse is receiving a new stage and LED video screen. Renovations are expected to be completed by the start of the 2015 regular season.
