Ben will be one of two NCAA OL transfers, along with Jared Caputy, joining the 2015 UBC Football recruiting class. Having completed three seasons with NCAA DII McKendree University in Illinois, he will add plenty of welcomed experience along the line of scrimmage for the Thunderbirds. Ben will have to sit a redshirt year in 2015 but will be eligible to play in the 2016 season and have two years of eligibility remaining. Coming out of High School in Illinois, Ben was an All-State selection on the OL. Ben has been selected to the All-Great Lakes Valley Conference team the last two seasons at McKendree. Not only is his size impressive at 6'4 280 pounds, but he shows incredible athleticism with a 4.9 forty and 30 reps on the bench at 225lbs. Coach Nill says Ben reminds him of Dylan Steenbergen, a former CFL 1st round pick under Coach Nill at University of Calgary. Look for Ben to bring an attitude to the scout team this season as he sits his redshirt year and to prepare to play in 2016.
