VANCOUVER – UBC Thunderbirds receiver Alex Morrison is off to Montreal. In Sunday's CFL Entry Draft, the Montreal Alouettes used the 29th overall pick to select the Sault Ste. Marie native and student in the UBC Faculty of Arts.
Morrison was a standout during his first two seasons in the UBC receiving core. During the Thunderbirds' 2015 Vanier Cup championship season, Morrison totalled 39 catches for 645 yards and six touchdowns.
Morrison's 2016 campaign was cut short by a gruesome arm injury versus Calgary in the season's second week. His hard work to rehabilitate the injury showed, as he impressed scouts with his speed, size and agility at the 2017 CFL Combine.
